The Montsià Mountains
The Montsià Mountains are included in the Catalan Plan for Areas of Special Natural Interest and offer magnificent views over the Ebro Delta. They rise imposingly almost from the sea and their most charismatic spotis the Roca Foradada (Perforated Rock). At more than 650 metres above sea level, the rock stands like a large picture window overlooking Sant Carles de la Ràpita and Els Alfacs Bay. We recommend reaching it by the Mata-redona footpath, which begins next to the football ground in Sant Carles de la Ràpita and climbs through a limestone terrain of great beauty populated with bushes and holm oaks.
